This weekend Ypeople staff, volunteers, mentors and mentees pulled on their walking boots and headed out to take on the Kiltwalk from Glasgow to Loch Lomond.
The walking challenges ranged from The Wee Wander at 6 miles, The Big Stroll at 15, and The Mighty Stride at a massive 23 miles. We had walkers at every stage of the journey waving the flag for Ypeople and challenging themselves at whichever stage they felt was right for them.
“I couldn’t stop smiling as I walked into Balloch, the team in front of me had the slogan ‘Pain is temporary, but pride is permanent’ that’s what kept me going”
Two of the walkers were Stewart and Brandon who met through our intandem mentoring programme. They have been mentor and mentee since 2017 and have built a great relationship over this time. Completing the Kiltwalk was a huge achievement for both of them, and something extra special to add to their weekly meet ups.
We are proud to say everyone made it to the finish line, which as well as being a great achievement means that we raised over £1,500! These donations will all go towards the work that we undertake supporting and mentoring people. Thank you to everyone who supported our walkers on the day, with their donations, and by letting them put their feet up at the end of the day. We couldn’t have done it without you all.
