Working hard at health

5th October 2018

As part of our commitment to ensuring Ypeople is a happy and healthy place to work we’re really pleased to confirm we’ve successfully achieved a Silver award from the Healthy Working Lives (HWL) programme.

Ypeople already holds a Bronze award for the scheme which is designed to help organisations improve health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace and create a healthier, more motivated and productive workforce.

The Healthy Working Lives team examine criteria such as standards of health, safety and wellbeing in an organisation as well as social responsibility and environmental awareness.

Recent events at Ypeople have included pedometer and hydration challenges, a barbecue at Branston Court and a hike up the Whangie in the Kilpatrick hills.

The HWL report said that Ypeople ‘place real value on the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees. They have clear policies in place to ensure employees are operating safely and go beyond this to promote their wellbeing’.

It also noted “there is clear buy in to employee health and wellbeing from management’ and that the staff interviewed had ‘a real sense of enthusiasm for the activities delivered as part of HWL and an appreciation for how their health and wellbeing is valued by the organisation.”
