About the role

The Support Worker will help to end homelessness through providing a high-quality support to people aged 16+ that are transitioning out of homelessness to longer term accommodation or that are at risk of becoming homeless.

  • You are qualified to SVQ level 3 H&SC/HNC or SCQF equivalent or are willing to work towards
  • You have gained experience of working in a similar environment
  • You have an understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness and rough sleeping

What you will be doing

  • Arranging and facilitating key work meeting to develop and review support plans in collaboration with service users to meet their individual needs.
  • Developing life skills with those we support including how to maximise income, budgeting, shopping, cooking, home maintenance & repair and any other skills that aid to independence
  • Assisting those we support in their transition from the Rapid Access service to more suitable accommodation
  • Providing advice on a range of subjects including housing options and welfare benefits
  • Advocating on behalf of those we support
  • Working an average of 35 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota system, 7hrs per day between the hours of 8am – 8pm.
