About the role

Our Your Home service provides outreach support to people aged 16+ who are transitioning out of homelessness to longer term accommodation or are at risk of becoming homeless.

The Support Worker helps to end homelessness through providing a high-quality visiting support service and helps people to improve their living conditions in a holistic way.

  • You are qualified to SVQ Level 3 in H&SC or SCQF equivalent (or willing to work towards)
  • You have gained experience of crisis work with vulnerable people in a similar roleY
  • You are knowledgeable of the issues surrounding homelessness

What you will be doing

  • Arranging and facilitating key work meeting to develop and review support plans in collaboration with the people we support to meet their individual needs
  • Developing life skills with the people we support including how to maximise income, budgeting, shopping, cooking, home maintenance & repair and any other skills that aid to independence
  • Assisting the people we support in their transition from temporary accommodation to permanent housing
  • Providing advice on a range of subjects including housing options and welfare benefits.

Blend of office and home working and also out in the community

Hours of work

An average of 35 hours per week Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend work when required

Annual Leave Entitlement

210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) per year in the second. This includes public holidays
