Ypeople has over 200 staff and volunteers and supports hundreds of people every day in our homelessness, young people’s wellbeing and out of school care services.

About the role

To help end homelessness through providing a high-quality visiting support service for people who are at risk of or are homeless.

Your Home provides outreach support to people aged 16+ who are transitioning out of homelessness to longer term accommodation or are at risk of becoming homeless. We support people to improve their living conditions in a holistic way.

  • You are qualified to or willing to work towards SVQ Level 3 H&SC or SCQF equivalent
  • You have knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness
  • You have experience of crisis work with vulnerable people

What you will be doing

  • Assisting the people that we support in their transition from temporary accommodation to permanent housing.
  • Providing advice on a range of subjects including housing options and welfare benefits.
  • Arranging and facilitating key work meetings to develop and review support plans in collaboration with the people we support to meet their individual needs.
  • Developing life skills with the people we support including how to maximise income, budgeting, shopping, cooking, home maintenance & repair and any other skills that aid to independence.
  • Assisting the people that we support to engage with and integrate in to the local community.
