Ypeople has over 200 staff and volunteers, and supports hundreds of people every day in our homelessness, young people’s wellbeing and out of school care services.

We are recruiting for a Joiner / Maintenance Worker to join our Maintenance team working in the Glasgow central area.

How you will make a difference:

  • Develop good communication and working relationships with colleagues, services, service users, contractors, and service providers.
  • Carrying out routine joinery repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide a quick response to reported emergencies and urgent work.s
  • Replacement of door, windows and damaged sections of internal or external joinery items.
  • Carrying out general planned maintenance when required.
  • Ensuring works are carried out to completion in line with Ypeople standards.
  • Attend and participate in training and share learning experiences.
  • Actively contribute to your service and the organisations development and improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and report any safety concerns or incidents.
  • Promote and represent Ypeople services positively.

What you will bring:

  • Personal values aligned with Ypeople’s core values.
  • Minimum two years trade experience in joinery.
  • City and Guilds / SVQ 2.
  • Experience of carrying out minor repairs and have all round DIY skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety issues.
  • Ability to ensure the service is delivered in accordance with corporate policy and Ypeople values
