Hope Project for Edinburgh pets

14th March 2019

We are proud to say that in the last few months our Edinburgh accommodation support services have registered with the Dogs Trust Hope Project. This means that the supported accommodation we offer in Edinburgh is not only pet friendly, but with our registration to the Hope Project people in need of accommodation who may not otherwise know about the work Ypeople do will be sign posted to us.

At Ypeople we know the importance of pets, and the happiness they bring into peoples lives. There has been plenty of research done which shows the value that pets bring to our quality of life, and how they improve our physical and mental health. The companionship that pets offer is a great way to reduce anxiety and stress. Our pet friends can not only be a great source of comfort, but the responsibility of having to care for them can be a great source of motivation. It provides structure and meaning, can even help encourage us to live in the moment, and of course the bond we share with pets encourages us to produce hormones like Dopamine “the happy hormone”.

With our mission to create positive change in people’s lives, allowing people to keep their pets as companions in our accommodation services only makes sense and we plan to roll this out to all our projects across Scotland. We want to do the best we can to help people get back on track. The sense of security, routine, and comfort that pets bring can be so important when other aspects of your life may feel out of control.

The Hope project not only assists with helping people find accommodation with their pets, it also provides help with veterinary care for your pet. For more information please visit The Dogs Trust by Clicking here –  The Hope Project
