Christmas Kindness in Edinburgh

19th December 2018

This is the time of year when everyone deserves a treat, and Destiny Church in Edinburgh worked hard to make this a little easier for local families who may be struggling through the holidays.

For the past eight years Destiny Church have rallied groups together to support those in their local communities. This year they selected Ypeople in their local area of Leith as one of the charities they wanted to support, and we want to say thank you for that.

After raising funds and donations to buy supplies, people came together over the first weekend in December to pack and fill Christmas hampers and deliver them to those most in need. These special hampers are filled with food, drink, toiletries, as well as Christmas cards with personal notes and gifts. All the things that can make a special difference at a time of year when every single penny has to count.

Tom Gilfillan, Team Leader at Edinburgh Your Home was there on the day

“The hamper is a lovely gift and those who received them have been really grateful, it may seem like a small gesture but it’s massive to someone who has not had such gifts before.”

We are so grateful to the people who came together to make a difference for those who really need it, and we know the positive impact that will be felt from it.

Thank you Destiny Church for spreading Christmas cheer.
